Do you ever use the console to fix nonsense?

For example, during my current run Edwin complained about me taking too long to kill Dynaheir and left... as soon as I had entered the Gnoll Fortress map.
Obviously it wouldn't have made any sense at all for him to leave not only in the wilderness but also in the very place he wanted to go in the first place so I just CTRL+Q him back to the party.

Suggestion: Release the Toolset's source code to the community

I have a bold suggestion for Beamdog: Why not release the Aurora Toolset's source code to the community?

Make it public so that we can implement some of the many good suggestions that are posted all over this place ourseves.
I'm just talking about the Toolsethere: the frontend, the user interface, the compiler, etc. All that makes up the modding experience. Most of these things are straight forward and since all the file formats have already been released they bear no secret at all.
I'm not talking about any of the game engine, which is assumedly D&D licensed or something, or the graphics engine. Just the framework parts.
You could release that under some kind of development license that allows you to use any of the community provided extension back in your own bundles whenever you see fit.

Judging from the Trollo board I assume that currently there are like 2-3 devs working on the project. How much time can they spend on Toolset features, that probably will not immediately generate revenue streams for the project?
Think of it like this: If the toolset is better, more modders will produce content. More content means more gamers. And more gamers means more revenue in the long run.


(Again, if that has already been suggested somewhere, please excuse me. I haven't found it yet.)

Really, especially during the first chapter, I feel like I am a street sweeper. There are so many chests and things all over the place that it feels ridiculous (really, who would leave all those things around the street, even if "hidden" in chests?)

I think there should be far less chests but far more meaningful (with more treasure). It would save A LOT of boredom. Same with enemies in some areas, but I guess this second part wont be heard.

Ps I am talking especially about the OC

Lan discovery is only for ports 5121 to 5123?

If you start a server on 5121, 5122, 5123 then it's easily found with Lan discovery. But anything outside that port range is not found. I'd assume they are just doing a scan on those ports for speed reasons.

Do you think we can open that range, say from 5120 to 5129 or so? Hopefully won't hurt performance to much.

Hi, i have a giant pw, all builded and finished, coded with all the things i've done from the beginning of nwn.
We play hosted on a server in Dallas, actually.
We would like to go EE; i've buyed the game NWN EE.

When it will be released, what are the steps i will have to do to convert my pw to EE?
(i use prc in italian, all translated by me, cep 2,3, cmp, cpp, acp and so many other things - about 52 haks.)

Thanks. I hope the conversion will be automatic and easy.

Announcing my new mod - er, or a new version of my old mod, with a new name... ah, whatever. Announcing Might and Guile!

Review that read me for details, but in short, this mod contains various game tweaks and new kits, focusing on warriors and rogues. Thus, "Might and Guile." There is no "core" component; everything is optional, everything is independent. This is really more like a collection of several mods. So, my usual motto: install what you like, ignore what you don't.

These mod components now contain:

1) Revisions to warrior and rogue classes and kits:
- A feat system allowing warriors and rogues to learn all sorts of non-magical and semi-magical abilities
- A psionics system, and a fighter and thief kit who can use psionics
- A complete re-working of the way bard songs work, allowing bards to sing and fight simultaneously, and allowing kits in other classes to use these new bard songs
- Barbarian and Monk movement bonuses changed to a speed bonus that can be toggled on and off (and rangers get it too)
- Revised Berserker kit and Rage ability
- Revised Stalkers, and Beastmasters
- Revised Archers and an all-new set of called shots
- Revised Kensai, actually following the in-game lore of only being able to master a single weapon category (at a time)
- Revised monk fist weapons, toggling back-and-forth from non-magical to magical
- Revised Blade and Skald kit abilities
- Revised Shadowdancer with new "Shadow Pool" instead of HiPS

2) Warrior and rogue kits:
- 5 fighter kits (Corsair, Marksman, Soulblade, Gallant, Hexblade)
- 4 ranger kits (Elven Archer, Halfling Slinger, Mage Hunter, Barbarian Ranger)
- 6 thief kits (Sniper, Scout, Alchemist, Psypher, Herald, Jinxer)
- 4 bard kits (Jongleur, Gallant, Meistersinger, Loresinger)
- 7 multiclass kits (Bladesinger, Spellfilcher, Loremaster, Tomb Runner, Thug, Ranger/Mage, and Ranger/Thief)

It is compatible with all major current versions of the games: TOB, BGT, BG:EE, BG2:EE, IWDEE, and EET. (Some components only work with the newer game engine, however.)

What happens when only one party member hit experience cap?

Let's take as example a party with one character at 161K xp and other 5 party members at 150K xp; what happens when party gains 6K xp?

Does each party member gain 1K xp? (the 1K to the already capped party member is simply wasted)
Or does the 5 less experienced characters gain 1200xp ?

[bug/oversight] Items dont stack when put into magic backpack

Stackable items like potions wont stack together automatically when put in sequence into a magic backpack. They will each fill out their own space, so you have to enter the backpack and stack them up manually. Slightly annoying.

Probably my favourite webcomic, Goblins is attempting to make it an animation, with the voice talents of Steve Blum, Phil Lamarr, Jim Cummings, Jennifer Hale and Billy West to name a few.

They first attempted a kickstarter with an overly ambitious goal of close to $500,000 but have now moved the campaign over to Indiegogo with a more realistic goal of $250,000 (although still high) by attempting to make a 5 minute trailer instead of a full 10 minute cartoon.

They are hoping to use this trailer to convince a producer/studio/someone with lots of money to back the project and make it into a series.

This is the first kickstarter/Ingiegogo I have backed and am excited to do so as I really want to see get made.

So ya, please check it out (at least the comic if you haven't read it already, it is amazing) and maybe throw a couple of bucks there way.

Paladin kits which is best?

So I'm thinking of running a pally, because I hardly ever have the nutters in my party, because I really don't like paladins much. Then I thought hey if I made a pally and made him a half-elf or elf "I use tweaks/SCS, so shhh" and RP'd him as not lawful stupid most of the time, it could be pretty cool. A high dex pally that never wore anything heavier than chain, because he valued mobility over defense."and I value the chain mail elf sprite over the horrible plate mail elf sprite."

Now I'm just trying to figure out which kit to run, I'm leaning toward a Undead Hunter or a Cavalier, because you get enough dispel out of Carsomyr and party mages take care of all the real debuffing anyways. So Inquisitor is not looking so great, True sight is not really worth it, rogues detect illusions is just better.

Also I like the idea of CHARNAME being a hunter of something, undead, demons, dragons it matters not.

I don't want to play a Blackguard, because I'm almost finished a Assassin run and using the OPness that is poison weapon again just doesn't seem fair. Plus I don't feel like doing a evil run.

But all of this is beside the point. So which paladin do you think is best overall?

Watchers Keep floor shortcuts stay shut outside the keep

Playing Bg2ee for the first time, ran into a small issue at Watchers Keep.

Though I can normally exit the Keep using portals as usual, I cant use the shortcuts from outside to get back in, the doors all stayed tightly shut and ofc can't be lockpicked. Never ran into that one before. It was fine for the top floors but having to go through the teleport maze again is a pain :) I have the wardstone in my bags. Actually its in Hexxat's pseudo bag of holding, maybe I should try taking it out of that just in case.

Just wondering if theres any known issues.

[bug/oversight] Player portrait not targetable during Pause

When using tactical pause, cannot target Player portrait with spells etc (as opposed to henchmen portraits). I guess the timeglass graphic that replaces the portrait is some sort of blocking overlay.

So I started a new SoD run and was trying out a Paladin. Rolled up the following:
Str. 18/81
Dex. 12
Con. 17
Int. 11
Wis. 13
Cha. 17

It lets me spend points on Two Handed weapon style but then Maxes out at Long Sword, it won't give me any options to spend proficency points in two handed swords, is there a problem with a Stat?

I have looked everywhere for an answer, but everything I'm seeing looks like the only real limitation should be Not being able to attain anything above Mastery. I'm playing SoD through an EET install, and wasn't thinking that should matter but I could certainly be wrong.

I want to take my character into BG2 on my Samsung tab, but I have no idea how to ensure that my game saves do not get deleted when I uninstall the game to make room.

Can enyone help me with this? I'd hate to lose my character
