Wrong Rasaad epilogue (ToB spoilers)

I romanced Rasaad (romance set at 7) and chose to stay with him.
The ending about Rasaad and CHARNAME living together played.

But then I reloaded from the final battle, and this time I chose godhood.
The very same ending played.

I have no idea what the other ending is supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure there has to be one.
I highly doubt we're supposed to have the same ending for both choices.
Otherwise, those are some pretty tough Sharran assassins...

My take on Rasaad's epilogue (non-canon) (Spoilers)

I wasn't particularly satisfied with Rasaad's fate in two out of three of his endings, as I felt that a man like him deserved at least a little more. I'm not one to believe that every character should have a happy ending, but his non-romanced path felt... unfinished, for lack of a better term. So I went and wrote my own version:

Rasaad Epilogue - Non-romanced
Though Alorgoth was not seen again for many years after the events in the Deepstone Mines, the Bringer of Doom was not killed there. By the time Alorgoth resurfaced, Rasaad's name had been almost forgotten by the world. After the events of the Bhaalspawn saga, Rasaad, hoping to reconcile with the brothers and sisters of his order, returned to Calimshan, hoping that the tales of his heroism would redeem him. However, he was unable to convince them to the truth of his 'betrayal' of their teachings, and gentle words soon became fierce combat. Rasaad battled against hundreds of his fellow Sun Soul monks, sustaining grievous injuries and forced to flee the temple. His wounds should have spelled his end that day, but whether by the grace of the Moonmaiden or his own force of will, Rasaad held onto what strands of life he had. Assumed dead by the order, Rasaad wandered the deserts as a nameless traveller for many years.

Inevitably, the return of Alorgoth would happen, and as though by premonition, Rasaad would be ready. On a moonless night, the Sharran order of the Dark Moon launched a devastating attack upon the main temple of the Sun Soul, overwhelming the monks with ease. The grandmistress of the order, Haraan Sixscar, faced Alorgoth personally before being stabbed in the back by the monk Gahan, an agent of the Dark Moon order who had decided Rasaad's guilt. When all seemed lost that night, Rasaad returned, fending off both the Dark Moon monks and his own brothers before meeting his nemesis face to face. The two monks, the strongest of their respective orders, struck simultaneously without a word. By the words of those who watched, the battle between light and dark would be one worthy of song for many years.

Despite his skill, Rasaad knew he could not slay Alorgoth, as the two were equal in combat and the Sharran was devious. In an act of desperation, Alorgoth attempted a last maneuver, summoning a portal for his escape into the Plane of Shadow once more. Rasaad, in one final effort to defeat his enemy, charged towards Alorgoth sending both monks plummeting once more into the Shadow Plane... forever this time.

The Sun Soul order had achieved victory that day, but neither Rasaad nor Alorgoth were ever seen again. However, though Rasaad was gone, his legacy would remain. Redeemed in the eyes of his brothers and sisters, a statue of Rasaad was raised in the rebuilt temple, the first monument of its kind ever to be made. It is said that in the brightest of days, the statue would glow as though with the light of the sun itself, and the monks of the temple would pray for Rasaad's final victory over Alorgoth and his return.
A bit too much like Keldorn's, I know, but that's why I left Rasaad's fate ambiguous for the possible hope that he will return victorious one day. Whether he does or not? Who can say :P

Now, his romanced ending was a different story. I actually like the direction it took, and I'm a sucker for tragic romances for sure, but having CHARNAME die was just awkward to read. A bit more grim than the above, but I like this one a little better.
Though Alorgoth was not seen for many years after the events int he Deepstone mines, the Bringer of Doom was not killed there. But by the time Alorgoth resurfaced, Rasaad's focus had moved from avenging his dead family members to caring for his new ones. Unable to convince the Sun Soul order of his dedication to them, he and CHARNAME went and made a home together in the Cloud Peak mountains. Their six children enjoyed an idyllic childhood, brought up according to the tenets of the Sun Soul philosophy. But the children were of the Bashir bloodline, and it was only a matter of time before the darkness that plagued their father found them as well.

One pleasant spring evening, Rasaad and CHARNAME were set upon by Sharran assassins. CHARNAME, at the time several months pregnant with her seventh child, was an easy target for them. Rasaad, knowing that his lover was in mortal danger, stood between his family and countless Dark Moon monks and assassins, a single man against insurmountable odds. Whether blessed by Selune or fueled by righteous fury that day, Rasaad fought with more strength than anyone had ever seen, narrowly evading blows that surely would have been fatal and defeating each and every foe who attempted to slay him.

Tirelessly, Rasaad fought off the attackers for what seemed to be countless hours, until finally, as the last of the Sharrans had either died or fled in terror, the injuries the monk sustained, coupled with exhaustion which would have destroyed a lesser man, dropped him to the ground. With the last of his strength, Rasaad lifted himself to face CHARNAME and whispered his last words into his wife's ear before passing away under a sky with a full moon and endless stars.

Soon afterwards, CHARNAME gave birth to her seventh child, a strong boy who resembled his father more than any of his siblings. In memory of her husband's past, CHARNAME named him Gamaz, Rasaad's brother who had lost his way and died by his hand many years ago. Gamaz would grow up to be the strongest of any of Rasaad's children, and as Rasaad did for his brother, swore an oath of revenge towards Alorgoth for the cruel fate that befell his father. Posessing the skills of both his Sun Soul father and his Bhaalspawn mother, Gamaz led his brothers and sisters on a crusade of vengeance and justice against the Dark Moon sect, an epic struggle which the Alorgoth would suffer his greatest defeats from.
I think this one is rather close to Viconia's romanced ending, but I hope it feels unique enough. I certainly would have preferred it end like this compared to vanilla.

Please do give your opinions. This was just my attempt at some writing for fun, seeing as I don't get much inspiration from other sources these days, so I write for video games instead. XD

"Somehow the statues defending the portal are preventing you from entering it"... All the statues are dead. It shouldn't matter that I slept in the adjacent room just after the ritual should it?
Is this fixable or should I run level 1 all over until this doesn't happen?
I ran this whole dungeon with my Sorc with no problem but killing the imprisoned 1 could it be a flaw in the expansion disk?

I just installed the BP mod, and now I can't save or rest in any "dungeons" - even the drow tavern..

Does anyone have any idea what component in the mod does this? Suffice to say it is infuriating, and I want it gone immediately.

Rescuing Dynaheir didn't finished the quest and (other quest related problems)

1. If I send her away (even if I changed my mind after talking to Minsc) the new entry in quest: "I freed Dynaheir..." There was a new entry in the finished quest. But the "I have agreed Minsc" remained in the quest with the "I freed".

2. If I let her join the party nothing happens. The quest isn't finished. No new entry.

Is this normal or a bug? (maybe it has something to do with Edwin? I didn't talked with him.)

I haven't played Throne of Bhaal in ages, so I've forgotten the Mellisan lines (most of them anyway). So here is a poll to replace it. Who do you feel in the most challenging major battle in BG2?
Major Battle= Battle with a Boss. I understand other fights (Like the Final Seal battle) are challenging, but I would still consider them a Moderate Battle, because they are not, in fact, bosses.

Stuck on Bodhi Bug- Can't Progress in Game

Hello all,

I chose Bodhi as my assistance in reaching chapter 4, but during my first playthrough, I couldn't engage her in conversation after killing Aran. I attempted starting from all points at which I had a save file, but to the same end. After reading very few reports of the same problem and coming across no solutions, I decided I'd encountered a problem unlikely to occur again. Perhaps stupidly, I started a brand new game file and pursued the same choices (Bodhi). This time I saved well before Aran fight, but I'm at the same dead end and I cannot initiate dialogue with Bodhi regardless of the circumstances under which I kill Aran.

Are there other prerequisites to entering chapter 4 aside from the completion of the task Bodhi has assigned me? My Journal reflects the fact that I have killed Aran and should report back to Bodhi. This is my first post for any bug of any game (typically I'm capable of locating a forum on my problem and troubleshoot my own issues), but there doesn't seem to be a reported solution to this bug. Help Please!!!

Using Black Blade of Disaster- Which Class?

$

For a good while now I've been thinking about making a character that uses BBoD heavily once it's cast-able. I'm curious for opinions on which class combos seem to have the most fun with it. I've put up some questions and my own thoughts on some of the mage/whatever combos, but if you don't feel like reading it I welcome simple accounts of playing around with the spell with varying classes.

Some questions on the mechanics:

- As I recall the spell grants grand mastery with the blade, though some of the descriptions on web sites don't mention that. How does this work for a non fighter mix? I assume it's the to hit and damage bonuses without the extra attack. I also assume that a multiclass f/m gets the full benefit of GM?

- How much damage does the blade do? I've always assumed it's 2d12+5 (7-29), but descriptions just say it strikes as +5 and does 2-24 damage.

- There is an old post on another forum that indicates casting BBoD while dual wielding creates 2 blades (or possibly that could cast it twice to do this). Doesn't sound right, but there are stranger glitches in the game. The same thread vaguely indicates that you may retain some special abilities your equipped weapon when the blade replaces it. They may just be referring to using an off hand weapon though; it's not very clear.

On to class musings:

Pure Wizard (sorcerer or specialist mage)
Most casts possible (6/5), fastest access (3 million experience). Worst HP.

Fighter Mix
No buff required frontline power, maximum attacks per round.

Multiclass- Best THAC0, slowest spell access (6 mil exp) and low number of casts per day (2). I essentially wouldn't have room for non-BBoD 9th level spells. Access to fighter HLAs, which is nice considering that if I want to use BBoD a lot I probably won't care about getting 10th level spells as much.

Dual class- Lower THAC0, but possibly better HP (haven't run the math, but full power fighter levels instead of halved). Depending on when I dual maybe lower APR. Even at 13th level switch faster access than multi (4.25 mil) and high cast number (4). Can get a fighter kit's abilities. Kensei is probably the best bet as kai shout is very nice with BBoD.

Thief Mix
Backstab! BBoD is one of the best backstab weapons in the game. Miniscule gains in hp, none for THAC0. No extra attacks directly, but able to use belm or whatever offhand.

Dual vs. multi is similar to fighter. In theory I could tap assassin high backstab levels, but it would mean tons of down time and loss of one or two 9th level casts for the x7.

Cleric Mix
Haven't really considered it much. Access to nice buffs and utility. Hmmm.

F/M/T
Only usable with exp cap remover. In theory best of fighter and thief in one package, but 9 mil exp until first cast.

That was long. Thanks for your thoughts.

First ever EVIL campaign?

Yes, I am 27 years old and in all my years of installing BG on new computers every half a decade since I was a teenager, I have never done an evil playthrough.

To be honest, I don't even have the slightest idea how being evil is going to effect the game and how I interact with NPC's in the game and decisions I make. Do I just run around taking all the evil dialogue options? Do I grind commoners and nobles for XP?

Among those questions I also am pretty excited about thoughts on who is going to come along for this journey. Do I tell Imoen to get lost outside Candlekeep? I have ALWAYS wanted to see what it was like to bring Xzar and Montaron into my party for the longhaul. Are they worth bringing along? I also have always wanted to see what it was like having Shar-teel being my frontliner with Viconia being my healer. I also have never considered using Eldoth the bard, I wonder if he is any good?

If any of you guys have done the naughty bhaalspawn run before and have any good tips for me to make this playthrough more enjoyable, I would greatly appreciate it. So far you guys have helped me to understand what a solo run is all about, the pros and cons of min/maxing and roleplaying in your playthrough. I figured it was time to stop planning and thinking about what I want to do in the game and finally get a run going.

So what do you guys think? Should I go for it, or should I be proud to say that I have never played an evil character on this game before and keep up my streak of honor and integrity? Thanks in advance for any comments and criticism. Have a great day guys.

Race for a Swashbuckler?

As the title implies, I'm wondering what class to go as for a solo play though as a swashblucker.

I've read around and decieded between the Dwarf, Half-Orc an the Halfling.
I'd duel wield Scimitars from the get-go (for that pirate-esq feel).

The reason I'm torn between these three races are
Dwarf: The con bonus for his shorty thows, and his buff to Open Locks/Find traps.
Half-Orc: His natural 19 STR and no dex penalty make him far stronger in melee, but weaker to those saves.
Halfing: His natural 19 Dex and his wield bonus to all his theiving skills set him far above the mentioned races, but his -1 STR makes him hit less.

Any suggestions?

STAND-ALONE MODS?

Ok, I've played this game so many times, now.
I've been evil and good, lawful and chaotic, and even sooo very neutral, I've romanced every single romanceable NPC, I've done every single quest and chosen every possible result, I've killed every enemy at least once.

And then I found myself wanting for more.
So I went to the MOD section, trying to find something new that might give me an idea for a new run...

And then it hit me.
Modders have created NPCs, banters and romances, they've made custom classes and kits, new quests and even new areas...

So, my question is... are there STAND-ALONE MODS that run independently from BG's Bhaalspawn storyline?
Yes, something similar to The Black Pits, but with joinable NPCs, banter, and everything we expect from BG.
Seeing the amount of work that has been put into mods, to this day... I would naturally expect there to be quite a few original storylines which play independently from BG/BGII, aside from using its game system, its items, and maybe some of its areas and the occasional NPC.

So, are there any of those?
If not, why?
Technical reasons? Legal reasons?

Any light shed on the subject would be much appreciated. :)

check (WIS, CON, save vs. x, whatever) to avoid spell disruption when hit

If my caster avoids damage, I can cast anything I want with impunity. If I can pepper opposing stoneskinned mages with piddly fire arrows for 1 hp of damage apiece, they cannot cast ANY spells. = Player wins. Boring.

Can we enable some way to make this a bit more nuanced? Give enemies some ability to cast without resorting to stupid scripted/uninterruptible casting like some difficulty mods do? Make the amount of damage matter, maybe make some attribute of the caster matter, make the process toggle-able or even configurable in a .2da file? Something better than BG1's original, terrible implementation of this?

This is the only thing left in EE that is inferior to GOG's version. The only thing!! Please please please can this get on someone's to-do list??

Custom PC & NPC Portraits

$

Building on the original thread, started by @Syntia13, this is intended to be a hub to share alternate, fan-made portraits for the enhanced editions of the series. In order to keep the thread running and make it a comprehensive source for portraits, please abide by the site rules and a few guidelines:

Thread Rules

1: Respect artists' creations and their right to them. If portrait-makers ask that you not edit their work, don't. If a mistake is made, simply edit your post to remove the image, apologize, forgive and forget.
2: Do not share images for which you have not received permission from the artists, when possible.* This is particularly true of art from DeviantArt, which hosts many artists who do not want their work shared elsewhere.
3: If you request that a portrait be made, recognize that the artists in this forum do this simply because they enjoy contributing to the community. Be patient, be respectful and say thank you.
4: Be supportive! Many of the artists here are just beginning to learn how to make portraits. Be positive and constructive in your comments, and avoid pointless negativity.
5: If you are making and posting portraits, state who you used as a model (if applicable), either here or on your website. Understand that this still does not make the likeness your property, and be prepared to remove the image if so requested by the copyright holder.

*Understandably, the source of some older portraits is unknown. If in doubt, go to Google Images and drag the portrait to the search bar. You may find the artist or source through that method. Again refer to Rule 1.

Guide to Using Custom Portraits

Portraits in the enhanced editions use three images in bitmap (.bmp) format, the largest of which is only shown during the epilogue in Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. The three sizes are 210x330, 169x266 (displayed in the character sheet) and 54x84 (displayed on the right UI bar).*

To use custom portraits for your PC:
1: Navigate to your Baldur's Gate directory in (My) Documents.
2: Drop the custom portraits into the Portraits folder.
3: In the game, select Custom when choosing a portrait and select the medium and small sizes. Alternately, if you have already begun your game, select Customize/Appearance from the character sheet.

To use custom portraits for NPCs:
1: Rename the portrait files to match the NPC whose portraits you want to replace. For example, Jaheira's portraits are named JaheiraL, JaheiraM and JaheiraS. There are some portraits in BG1 that do not conform to this, and those in BG2 have their own naming format. Consult this site.
2: Place the portraits in your override folder, located in the directory where you installed the game.

*Note that after the latest patch, the games allow a single large portrait size to be automatically adjusted to the proper sizes. I currently do not recommend this, as it causes pixelation in the small 54x84 version.

hi all
What does this spell do?
i tried to use this spell at The Black Pits but it seems to do nothing at all! isn't it supposed to reinforce weapons of my party members, so they can hit special enemies like Golems specially clay sort of them? CHARISMA

Charisma 3 = reakce -5 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 4 = reakce -4 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 5 = reakce -3 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 6 = reakce -2 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 7 = reakce -1 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 8 = reakce 0 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 9 = reakce 0 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 10 = reakce 0 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 11 = reakce 0 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 12 = reakce 0 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 13 = reakce +1 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 14 = reakce +2 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 15 = reakce +3 = ceny v obchodech = 100%
Charisma 16 = reakce +4 = ceny v obchodech = 95%
Charisma 17 = reakce +4 = ceny v obchodech = 90%
Charisma 18 = reakce +5 = ceny v obchodech = 85%
Charisma 19 = reakce +8 = ceny v obchodech = 80%
Charisma 20 = reakce +9 = ceny v obchodech = 75%
Charisma 21 = reakce +10 = ceny v obchodech = 75%
Charisma 22 = reakce +11 = ceny v obchodech = 75%
Charisma 23 = reakce +12 = ceny v obchodech = 75%
Charisma 24 = reakce +13 = ceny v obchodech = 75%
Charisma 25 = reakce +14 = ceny v obchodech = 75%

( Detaily o reputaci a jejím vlivu najdete v "Vše co potřebujete vědět = REPUTACE" )

Dodatek:
