Now that the multi-player is easier to use, I'm looking for a group to RP our way through the story from scratch. Make our way through the game at a nice leisurely pace. Was thinking 8pm(GMT) on either a Sunday or Wednesday for a couple of hours as they are the only free nights I have. Leave a message if you are interested.

So it seems Imoen is considered whiny and annoying in BG 2 by a lot of people. So I'm curious as to what the consensus on this is (because shut up, that's why) and I created a poll.

Black pits 2 is great but there are a fair few bugs. (I also haven't finished it yet)

List

Bug:Training Arena, single character who initiates dialogue to with the beast-master is transported to the battle square and is selected, but you do not lose control of you other party members a la surly fight in the copper coronet so you can just bring them in to fight.

Expected: Lose control of party except for char initiating dialogue

Bug: After poisoning the cook, Marduuk still says “Shh we cant talk here” and Short-order still says “I’m happy not, no i’m not” whenever you talk to them, the same dialogue as when the cook is still alive.
Expected: they say something different (tbh the whole cook poisoning quest has a bunch of bugs)

Bug: after speaking to the Guard Captain who challenges you at the enterance to the Hunters Lounge while wearing Noser uniforms and agreeing to kill Branson, when the party tries to return to the small anteroom where the guard is situated who requires the Noser uniforms to pass. The door from the long corridor to the anteroom “auto-closes” immediately when opened unless you are positioned so that when it opens, the guard on the outside sees you and it triggers the “Captain said you could pass...” speech bubble in which case it stays open until it closes as you move out of line of sight. This also means that if you are solo-ing, you cannot exit this door back to the main part of the black pits area

Expected: door stays open when you open it from the inside until you pass through, does not require line of sight.

Bug: When removing Noser’s Uniforms while in the corridor north of the banquet hall, a flurry of “trap sprung” notifications occurred for all characters, 1 char was level drained and 1 char was shot with an acid arrow, this happens every time.

Expected: removing noser uniforms when not in hunters lounge has no effect on charecters

Bug:was able to access the Hunter’s lounge via buying Noser’s uniforms and complete Guard captain miniquest before talking to Brodle, afterwards I had a conversation about accessing the lounge and the difficulty in doing so with Brodle after I had in fact done it.

To replicate: talk to Brodle re: rebellion, visit locked door to Hunters lounge access corridor and talk to guard, talk to Noser in room west of kitchens and buy uniforms, talk to guard and enter corridor, progress and talk to and complete Guard Captains quest (bribe or murder Branson), enter lounge, return to market, Brodle hails PC and discusses rebellion and getting into hunters lounge :S

Bug: after you speak to brodle about rebellion with the option “you’re a slave in other words, Help me plot a rebellion” he rejects you saying “Ima pretend I never heard that”, later when he approaches you, he talks about rebellion and gives you information on each of the Winged band, when selectiong “lets talk about something else” you are presented with 6 old dialogue options: “What is it you do around here”, “id like to know about the people who run this place” “you’re a slave in other words, Help me plot a rebellion”, and 3 more these are the old dialogue links and so you can get into the situation where you are plotting a rebellion with Brodle yet you can still ask him to plot a rebellion and he says “ima pretend I never heard that”

Bug: Mercy Whitedove: after fighting with Mercy Whitedove and you ask her if she is “willing to help me escape” you get the following dialogue, note the PC dialogue choice: “many thanks Stannel Eibor”, rather than “Mercy Whitedove”

Bug: when reaching tier 4, the weapons seller sells +4 bolts and arrows in a default stack of 1

Expected: +4 bolts and arrows are sold in stacks of 40

Bug: When talking to Timmoth Goodtree after wave 5 (the drow war party): Eternal Dialogue Loop “How are you doing in the arena” leads to 4 options which all lead to “how are your escape plans coming” which leads to one option “how are you doing in the arena”. no way to escape this loop and requires re-load

Expected: non broken dialogue allowing exit from loop.

Bug: It is possible to use the Striv’s Wrangler” special ability to swap places with Dennaton in the arena, placing the user on his balcony and Dennaton in the arena, permanently neutral and with no dialogue. you can attack the hell out of him, but can’t kill him.

Expected: you can’t do this.

Chaos and Story Points That Teleport Your Party(Spoilers)

I'm not sure if this was a vanilla issue or not, since this is the first time this has ever happened to me. When I was in Brynnlaw and I was helping free Claire, the mage with Lady Galvena cast chaos on my party. After dispatching her and her mage, I picked up the loot, and immediately went to speak to Claire. When Claire was supposed to teleport the party out, the greyed out screen occurred, but the teleporting did not. I sat back and watch Dorn, CHARNAME and Korgan hack through the party, and even when the Chaos ran out, the teleport did not occur. So, I sat there for about a minute and a half watching the three tanks trying to kill Hexxat(she took staggering amounts of damage - over 400, she did not change into her cloud) since I was not able to even exit the game. The only way I could exit the game was by ending the task with task manager.

Questions regarding Hexxat and Rasaad in BG2 EE.

I'm an old BG2 fan, just got a few questions regarding the new NPC.

Hexxat question:
I already helped Hexxat retrieved the claw of black leopard and returned to the city, but it seemed the mission is still not finished according to the journal. Is there something else I should do?

Rasaad question:
How do I trigger his mission? I recruited him in Treadmeet, but there's no map or even a clue about how to help him in the next step.

Extrayez les fichiers de l'archive dans le répertoire override du dossier d'installation ( \Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition\Data\00783\Override )

Si le répertoire Override n'est pas présent, créez le en faisant un clic droit > nouveau > dossier, puis en renommant le dossier nouvellement créé.

J'ai vérifié les fichiers audio un par un pour éviter les problèmes, toutefois il y a quelques voix qui sont restées en anglais (une ou deux d'après ce que j'ai pu voir pour l'instant) . Cela est dû au fait que certains fichiers audio sont muets dans la version d'origine (comme ceux de sanasha dans la maison de prébek sur les docks). Lorsque j'ai rencontré ce type de fichiers muets, je ne les ai simplement pas ajoutés afin que les voix anglaises puissent combler les vides.

Baldur's Gate I and II will not start

Hello everyone,

I have emailed my issues to beamdog support but I thought I would post them here as well to see if I can get a quicker response or find someone who is experiencing similar problems. Whenever I attempt to start Baldur's Gate 1 or 2 I immediately receive an error message with the crash/dump line and some numbers afterwards. The game never starts. Baldur's Gate 1 worked fine for me until this last June - so I assume one of the newer patches made it incompatible or something. Here are my system specs:

Asus N61J
4 GB Memory
Windows 7
Intel Core i7
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 (I suspect the issue may be related to this card....)

I have tried multiple troubleshooting tactics with no positive results. Updated my graphics drivers - nothing. Tried to run the program in all the compatibility modes and as an administrator - nothing. Added the "openGL" graphics line to my baldur.ini file - nothing. Reinstalled the game - nothing. Installed OAL - nothing. At this point I am not sure what else to do. I bought BG 2 on Sunday thinking it might work even though BG 1 does not, and I am having the exact same issue with BG 2. If anyone has any ideas or solutions please let me know!

Every time that I win a fight the game crashes and goes to the desktop. Really developers? You tested this?
This always happens after the battle with the fallen devas and I can't go forward...

When I had a look about the discussion I started whether or not the idea of implementing the option to save Clara I was baffled to see that the discussion was closed. While I do think the mods were a bit to fast do close the discussion because I think the idea is still worth pursuing and some reasonable points were made, this is not the pity I would like to discuss. The pity is that it is not possible for a discussion about Hexxat and Clara to stay open for more than 4 days because people are offended by that fact that Hexxat is black and lesbian while Clara is white. The whole discussion quickly drifted around the topic whether or not the replacement of Clara by Hexxat is something about sexual preferences and the colour of the skin. It reflects bad on the community that a character in a videogame draws so much antipathy because the developers were bold enough to make Hexxat and Clara the way they are.

On my behalf I would like to thank the developers that Hexxat is a black lesbian. In a fantasy world which reflects at least in some way the world we live in, the decision to replace a white girl with a black lesbian shows us where we stand. The great pity is that it seems to be of a great matter to some.

Neera dialogue/selection bug

Whenever the party is in the "Wild Forest" area, Neera begins a constant stream of selection dialogues (as if you were clicking on her portrait over and over in quick succession). The only way to make it stop it to leave the area; the problem continues whenever you return with her in the party.

This doesn't prevent the game from triggering her scripted event at the fallen bridge, and it doesn't persist when you enter the next map in the quest.

But it makes the hike through that forest really, really grating on the ears.

Sword Coast Stratagems is now available for BG:EE and BGII:EE

The newest version of my mod "Sword Coast Stratagems", version 25, is now out and ought to be a bit improvement on previous versions for BG:EE in terms of stability and ease of install. It should be compatible with version 1.2 of BG:EE and (with any luck) with BG2:EE when it comes out later this week. The new version fixes a host of bugs large and small (though mostly not with BG:EE, as it happens) and (with some trepidation) I'm declaring it non-beta, though realistically it's still beta for BG2:EE.

Edit: after two fast updates in response to problems identified with BG2:EE installs, we're now on v27. I've had to disable the "Improved Vampires" component on BG2:EE installs for the moment: some kind of animation bug is causing crashes and I don't immediately have time to sort it out. (If you have installed that component, I recommend uninstalling it.)

Timmoth Goodtree's conversation tree is broken. I've had a few different errors, including the conversation getting stuck in an infinite loop (no leave option) - not sure how to reproduce this, and have had a NO VALID REPLIES OR LINKS option come up after the following conversation 'I hope you're faring well...' 'I have a plan to escape...' 'Will I battle my captors? Yes, of course...' and then NO VALID REPLIES OR LINKS

The following two may be due to something I've missed, but I've explored all the conversation options and areas as best I can (including the Hunters' Lounge - all I was able to do there was entering Bannor's quarters + collecting the shard and fighting + trapping Dormamus), and I still can't seem to make any headway.

There appears to be no way of advancing the quest to poison Joker (I've had several different people manufacture poisons, but upon returning to talk to Voghiln about a plan, with the poisons in my inventory, the line about needing more items is still there.

Likewise, with Bannor's quest, Dulf Ebonbeard has received the materials + money and has started working on the scroll, but even after clearing all of the arena fights up until the final post-rebellion battle, there's been no signs of further progress.

Last night I learned that the party composition that I had planned on using in BG2EE was not possible due to... differing viewpoints between two of the NPCs.

So now I have a dilemma in deciding who will fill my 6th and final party slot. This is an evil party, so I'm inclined to stick with like minded individuals, but a morally questionable chaotic neutral character might fit.

I have:
-PC - Dual Class Berserker 8/Cleric X
-Dorn
-Hexxat
-Viconia
-Edwin

I'm pretty sure that I want another arcane caster and a ranged/archer type character, as currently only Edwin is using ranged attacks regularly (the front lines start to get crowded).

I'm considering Korgan, as he definitely fits the bill for evil, but of course, he's a hardcore melee character. I suppose that I could switch Viconia to more of a ranged focus to balance this out, but I still end up with only one arcane caster.

Haer'dalis is another option I'm considering. He covers the backup arcane caster role, but his kit is very melee oriented also. Jan is pretty much right out, as his personality doesn't really fit this rather dark, brooding group and I just don't need a second thief.

Another option I'm considering is rolling up my own character. I'm considering something like a dual class fighter 7/mage X, with grandmastery in bow.

What would you all do in my position. I certainly welcome any well thought out comments and feedback!

i created a male Half-Orc, Fighter/Cleric and rolled 94.

At the moment i disributed them like this:

STR: 19
DEX: 18
CON: 19
INT: 9
WIS: 18
CHA: 11

What do u think of this and do u have any other suggestions for me?

P.S.: Could u please tell me which romances are possible for this charakter? Is Viconia now romancable like intended?

Formerly Alternate NPC and PC portraits... because I'm bored with no BG:EE to play. :P

Just as it says on the [former] title. I suffer for want of my game, so I'll make sure you'll suffer, you'll ALL suffer, MWAHHAHAHHA! And I'll do so with 'art'. As I am an avid fan of the BG2 portrait style, I'm trying for getting as close to it as I can, but, yeah, it's not exactly easy, and I'm no artist, so, you've been warned. I'm going to keep posting more pictures as I make 'em. Here is one new and a few you might have already seen posted on a different thread (put here just for the sake of completion). If after I'm done with all the BG1 NPC portraits BG:EE still isn't out, I'm gonna scar you all even more with my pet project - pictures of what would they all look like after putting on that innocent looking, unidentified magical girdle. ]:D
I'll start gently:

Alternate Viconia - features changed to fit more with what Jaheira's and Aerie's pics established as elvish features. Skin color changed because I like black drows better than blue drows (although from the description someone posted, the drow skin does have a purple or blue tone to it, so the original pic isn't wrong, per se, it just isn't to my taste). Cloak and sky color changed just because. :) Original to the left, tweaked version to the right, for sake of easy comparison.

My fav PC, Karrion - glued together from at least five different pictures - hopefully you won't be able see any of Frankenstain's Monster in him. ;)

Nathaniel, from the mod. I like this mod, but none of the available pictures were quite appealing enough for me, so I messed with the one I liked best and did this:

BG1picture edited to get rid of the green light, alter her expression and trim the ears a bit, then a lot of other stuff added. (From the character creation screen, halflings are supposed to 'look mostly like small humans', and it was said elsewhere on the board that they do not, in fact, have pointy ears, but... I like pointy ears! So she has them).
Original to the left, tweaked version to the right, for sake of easy comparison.

Inteligence je nejdůležitější zejména pro mága, ale z jejich výhod může těžit i bard. VELMI vzácně se může objevit i její využití v dialogu ( např. s inteligencí 18 v BGII můžete ukecat jednoho Belholdera, místo aby jste s ním bojovali ). Inteligence ovliňuje šanci na opsání svitku do knihy kouzel a počet kouzel na úroveň, které je možné si do knihy zapsat.

Inteligence také ovliňuje úroveň Znalostí, které pomáhají identifikovat předměty. Čém vyšší úroveň znalostí, tím větší šance na automatickou identifikaci předmětu. Mocnější předměty vyžadují vyšší úroveň Znalostí. Úroveň znalosti nejde snížit pod 0 nebo zvýšit nad 100.

Počet získaných bodů znalostí za každou úroveň povolání:

Bardové = 10
Mágové a zloději = 3
Všichni ostatní =1

Dodatek: Pokud je vaše inteligence snížena na 0 ( například vysátí od Mozkoužroutů ) tak zemřete.

Hi!
I've done Dorn's first quest where he does his own version of The Red Wedding. However, when I visit the Radiant heart a few days later, there is nobody about and all the doors are locked. I only want to know if this is how it's supposed to be. /J
