Speed Factor on weapons

$

Can anyone fully debunk how speed factor works exactly or link me to such documentation?

I feel this is an extremely important part of weapons in IE but it's barely ever mentioned or documentated.

As far as I know it's the delay where your character waits before doing a swing long after targeting an opponent, regardless of your APR right? It seems to be most impactful on characters with low APR.

F/C build

I should mention I'm playing classic, so I don't have anything strictly EE.

I'm planning a run with a multi F/C. It's a family only run, so just my sis and bro will be in the party, though I'll probably keep
Yoshi for as long as I can. Other NPCs would be just for quests. Since it's not an R/C, it's highly unlikely I can spend 30 seconds rolling and pretty much 18 in everything. So, I have to make some tough choices with my stats and can use some tips on what to put where. I'd like to avoid min maxing while still being effective.

I'm planning to SK in a kit, and am leaning towards Lathander with the concept being this deity/faith is instrumental in the PC reconciling his bhaal lineage. However, I'm also leaning towards a female dwarf, and I don't see dwarves as following Lathander. I mean, sure, anyone can worship any deity, but this is too much of a stretch for me. That being said, a halfling F/C of Lathander would be more reasonable in my mind.

I know a berserker is pretty boss with an F/C, but this character concept is more centered around faith than the warrior side. However, she does have to be damn good at holding the line as she is it until bro comes along.

So, how would you build such a character? Thanks.

We all remember that Trent has "a domain buying habit" and we "shouldn't look too deep" into it, but...

The Axis & Allies (1984–present) board game series is currently produced by WotC under the Avalon Hill label. Hasbro is the parent company. There are a total of 11 board games in the Axis & Allies series, 8 of which are currently available from many game resellers.

Axis & Allies is a series of World War II strategy board games. Originally designed by Larry Harris and published by Nova Game Designs in 1981, the game was republished by the Milton Bradley Company in 1984 as part of the Gamemaster Series of board games. This edition has been retroactively named Axis & Allies: Classic to differentiate it from later revisions.

The 11th A&A board game in the series, Axis & Allies: Europe 1940 was released in August, 2010. As you can see, Trent registered domains for Axis & Allies 1940, 1941, 1942 and 1943, with an emphasis on 1942.

Are we on the brink of getting Axis & Allies strategy games from Beamdog for PC and tablets?

Is it a side-project? Questions, questions...

Why dont druids get love?

So I got an extremely good stat roll on my druid 94 so pretty much everything is maxed but int and charisma but druids have it so damn easy escaping irenicus dungeon.
I did it with the druid alone and did not rest a single time and I cleared the entire place as well and it only took me like 20mins.

Any other character I've taken the full team (everyone in the dungeon) and have had to rest like 18 times and that's with only doing the absolutely necessary things and it takes me an hour to an hour and a half. (Yeah I'm a really shit player)

Druid is ridiculous, woodland beings + flame blade + bless + iron skins is awesome, oh and the summon snake from totemic druid

*Spoilers* What do you do when your party encounters Drizzt?

Does anyone play as a Mage?

I'm just curious if anyone actually plays as a pure Mage. With the general concensus being sorcerer/duals/kits/multis are technically better.

I personally like playing as a Mage, even as an experienced player but I kinda wish the class had some form of advantage for being pure that sets it aside from the others, because basically any Mage can benefit from starting as a different class then dualling early at virtually no cost.

For example a thief could fairly quickly get to level 4 and max out detect illusion then dual to a mage and it would have very little impact if any at all on the characters progression. 10k XP later and they would be a mage of the same level with extra HP and the ability to dispel illusions at will. The only advantage being that the pure mage would level up a few minutes earlier in comparison -a window which would get progressively more negligible as the game progressed and XP rewards increased.

It would be cool if there was some kinda of perk to being a pure class though I have no idea what that could be :p

Anyway I'm just curious as to what people's thoughts are on the matter.

In the quest Tanner Murder when you confront the tanner then go to the basement, the Assassins down there seem to be able to still see you if you are hiding n shadows or using invisibility spell even with cloak on Non-Detection, I haven't come across any other Assassins that can see me nor not even mages using true sight yet for some reason these Assassins can see me even though they are aren't using True Sight or anything

Is it possible to "quote values" and do operations with them?

There must be a proper word for this in programmer speak, but what I mean is putting a reference to some statistic inside a script and combining it with others. For example if I wanted to add a character's level to his Charisma and use the sum somewhere, would the Infinity Engine allow it?

Dwarven Defenders

Can someone confirm for me that a Dwarven Defender in defensive stance mode still only moves at 50% speed even if he's wearing a 'ring of free-action', etc.

In my head, a ring of free action should negate that 50% penalty, however, I'm assuming (and hoping) it doesn't because Dwarven Defenders (in my opinion) are already too powerful a fighter class and if that 50% movement penalty can be negated it would be crazy.

Qin Ya _ Shadow Dancer Journey

I decided to document my playthrough with this character seen its so much fun.

I got an extremely good roll as you can see here.

When I started I put I don't exactly remember how I assigned stat points but I think it equalled out to roughly
110 Pickpockets
60 Find Traps and Open Locks
40 Hide in Shadows and 30 in Move Silently

The character is mostly played solo although I do take a couple NPCs for extremely short time such as Hexxat quest and the Planar Sphere and Prison (which I'm heading to now.

Here is a Biography I did for the character:
From the moment you were born you have always had an extreme hunger for powerbut have always wanted to get it the easiest way possible, belieiving that money and treasures are the key to power due to their ability to boost your own abilities or grant you new ones. Throughout the years you have tracked down many powerful treasures and watched them swith from ownership to owner ship as you have have been growing up keeping your eyes on particular items to make sure you never lost trck of them.

During this time you grew a deep fascination and appriciation of the shadows and developed an urge to use them for your own gain so you joined a thief sect of Shadowdancers, however you have not developed your ability to harnest shados yet due to focusing on your ability to steal and obtain powerful treasure. Although you have focused a lot of your time own developing your stealing abilities you have rigorously trained your body to the peak of physical abilities your your intellect to an extremely high level although your hunger for power leaves you without wisdom.

During the years your activities drew the attention of Irenicus, who believed your actions and developments were derived from a hidden power within you. This is where your story begins.....

I ended up resting an aweful lot in Irenicus dungeon (50days passed by time I exitted lol...)

Once I got out I instantly went to the Inn with the dwarfs upstair, used HiS to steal the Cloak of Non-Detection from the mage and then used Shadow Step to run away before they could even make an attempt to attack me let alone follow me.
Next i jumped from the fenced item shops selling and stealing wands to bring up my money (slight RP purposes find it stupid just constantly stealing/selling to same guy due to the guy should know something just sold being sold to him again instead jumping between 4 of them s much more "friendly" because you "could have" gotten the item from somewhere else by the time you come back to sell then steal again).

After getting enough money I bought the Mercy Killer ring, Victor ring, Bauldran's Sword, Amulet of Protection and AC 3 Bracers, I then went and stole the ring of the ram and then did the Mae'Var quests and gained all the items to boost my HiS and MS to 100/90 and through level ups I pretty much never fail hiding even in day light and am still wearing the Shadow armor, boots and ring.

I then went to trademeet and stole ifereet botte and used Cernd to beat the Druid Grove and to be able to get Raz Sword and Belt of Intertia and bought the Wand of Ice, straight after I went and got the bag of holding from Hexxat and then did the Harper quests and stole the Wand of Fear and then completed the Tanner Murders. I am now tossing up between doing Planer Prison or Planer Sphere.

Which do people think I should do next and is there any parts of the game people want me to (try to) give detailed experiences through?

I should also mention I'm playing classic EE except I have installed Tales of Gardens Deep as that sounds interesting I don't think that has a major impact on the base game but thought I should still mention it.

Combat tactics and strategies?

$

0
Hi all,

I was wondering about what tactics/strategies everyone uses during BG. It's always interesting to learn what others are doing and go, "hey, why didn't I think of that?"

For me, I have a few key strategies I use against enemies.

Archers - my party has four archers, so when I see enemies I just start blasting away until they reach my front line. I try to have my two tanks fight with melee weapons while my elf fighter and thief continue to blast away with arrows. This is probably a common strategy among gamers.

Choke Points - These are great. Find a narrow area where there is only room for one or two of your PCs (doorways are great for this, or outside natural narrow places). Have them block here, keeping the rest of the party safely behind them. This way, your two front liners only have to fight one or two creatures at a time. This works well when you have a large mob coming after you. While the foes are blocked battling your tanks, your archers or other PCs with missile weapons can blast away, while the front liners take care of the rest.

Flanking - I like to engage a foe with one character, then flank with the others. I will have another PC come up behind the foe, and if there are any more available PCs, they will flank from the sides. I don't think this gives any bonuses, but I have noticed that the foe usually stays focused on his first PC, so the others on the sides and/or back can chop away with impunity.

Doors - I have used this trick in BG1, BG2, and Icewind Dale, so I can't recall if it works in BG1. When faced with many enemies, I will have all my PCs wait in a room, while one PC stands off to the side right near the door. If you time it right, and the monsters are spread out a little, you can let a few of them in and then have your PC shut the door, thus blocking all the other monsters. They are unable to open doors. I think Siege of Dragonspear changed this though, because I tried this on that game and the monsters just opened the doors up.
With this tactic, you can take on the foes a few at a time instead of all at once.

Magic - Grease, grease, grease. This spell is so underrated! I love to use this to keep enemies at bay so I can pepper them with missile weapons while they plod along. Grease combined with Stinking Cloud and Web will usually render most if not all the foes incapacitated. Then a nice Fireball or two mops up the resistance. Bless and Doom are also good buffs. Animate Dead and the Monster Summoning spells come in handy when you need a little more muscle.

Withdrawing - This is probably a no brainer, but if my party is in a bad spot, I will have them retreat. I use Boots of Speed on all my PCs, so they can usually outrun their foes. This helps them reposition themselves, get healing, or use missile weapons.

Fighting spellcasters - This is probably a no-brainer, but I pick out spellcasters right away and start blasting them with missile weapons or spells to disrupt their casting. My cleric will use Hold Person and Silence 15' Radius to try to immobilize the spellcasters. Sometimes a straightforward charge works wonders as well. The spellcaster may get a spell or two off, but then has to contend with some beefy tanks right in his or her face.

Spread out - This works well when you are facing an enemy spellcaster. Have your characters spread out as far as they can, so they won't all get nailed by an area effect or a fireball.

Scouting - I usually send my thief and one of my tanks to scout ahead, the thief using his Find Traps ability. This way if you run into something, you will have an idea of what you're facing without your entire party blundering into some huge fight. The scouts can race back to the party and you'll have a little extra time to prepare.

Taking out missile weapons - When faced with foes where some have melee and some have missile weapons, take out the ones with missile weapons first. Otherwise while you're in melee, you're getting blasted with arrows or whatnot.

Some of these might be "duh!" tactics, but I just wanted to share my tactics and see what others are doing!

Należy pobrać plik dialog.tlk i podmienić ten z folderu lang\en_EN. Jest to mocno niepełne spolszczenie, w większości stare treści+trochę nowych.

4. Zastąp stary plik "dialog.tra" nowym plikiem "dialog.tra" w katalogu C:/BG2EE/dialog
5. Uruchom setup_dialog.exe

Koniec dla grających dla modach

Changelog 14.09
– Uzupełnione brakujące tłumaczenia w kwestiach Rasaada
– Poprawki zgłoszone na forum

Changelog 29.06
Kolejna rekordowa aktualka
– Jeśli mnie daty edycji plików nie mylą – 2779 linii Rasaada!
– Kilkadziesiąt linii Hexxat
– Kilkadziesiąt linii przeniesionych z BG1:EE – chodzi głównie o jakieś umiejętności itp.
– jak zawsze przejrzane linie

Changelog 06.04

Rekordowa aktualka
– 355 linii z Neery
– 692 linii z Rasaada

+ około 60 importów z BG:EE do BG2:EE, jakieś poprawki w menu i przejrzane linie.

Changelog 05.03
– było kilka błędów przy imporcie linii Rasaada
– dodano pięć wpisów z dziennika
– bardzo poważny update :)

Changelog 03.03
– 460 linii Rasaada
– 72 linie Hexxat
– uzupełnione tłumaczenie menu
– … masa poprawek w starych treściach

Changelog 22.11
– wersja female
–… i pewnie masa poprawek w starych treściach

But, I haven't found a way to change that yuck stale grey color for the background... Is it possible?

I am playing through from the start again and strongly debating whether to break with "canon" members Khalid and Jaheria. I usually always take them, more or less because they are the first fighter / healer that you come across, and want to change things up. I am not sure who I want to replace them with, so suggestions are welcome.

Main char is a neutral evil shadowdancer. I have dropped Imoen (gasp!) already, and took Edwin as mage. Currently, I have Kagain, Branwen, Khalid and Jaheria, who I may drop as soon as someone better comes along. I am trying to avoid Minsc because a) I get annoyed by him quite often (gasp again!) and I intend to make Edwin love me by skewering Dynaheir.
