Can't access Beamdog Main site using Firefox

Started three days ago and tried almost everything I could find in Internet such export/import certificates and even deleted the cert8.db. which resets all the certificates in Firefox. The weird thing is that I can't access https://www.beamdog.com/ although I can access this forum.

No problems using Chrome, IE or Edge

The error message is the one below and there is no option to add an exception.

How do I download the soundtracks?

Just purchased the standalone soundtracks, and was directed to the Beamdog client. My only option is to install the games. Where do I download the soundtrack?

There are so many stresses, obstacles, challenges, heartbreaks, and even a few brick walls that each and everyone of us must face on a daily basis. We all must find a way to relax and recuperate so that we can do it all again tomorrow. Each finds their own way to soothe their soul and replenish their spirit.

For some it may be music, others a lovely piece of chocolate or a stiff drink. Still others find a trip to the gym or a quiet moment of contemplation to be the way back to sanity.

For me, music is a big one, along with having those most loved near. Be they on two legs or four. :) Of course a bite of chocolate never goes amiss, or allowing myself a “forbidden food”. Getting lost in a good book can do wonders. Sometimes, coming to this forum and reading a post made by someone who is having a blast as they discover yet one more thing that they love about this game, just works like magic on my mood.

I would love to hear how others soothe and replenish their souls.

WTF Invisible Keldorn Bug? Help!

I fixed this problem by reloading, but I want to know what to do if it happens again.

So I fighting Firkragg and using the Rod of Ressurection to bring back anyone who died resulting in a very humorous Whack a Mole type effect with Firkragg killing Minsc and Keldorn over and over again.

Eventually Keldorn was on the screen registering as having =10 Hp, but the game still allowed me to resurrect him (I believe it's MORE than -10 before chunking, right?) but when I ressurected Keldorn he became invisble.

Keldorn could still perform actions such as walking around, fighting and putting on and picking up items, but he had no visible sprite and no visbile green circle. I tried saving and reloading the new file and kicking him out and rehiring him to no avail.

Eventually I fell back on a save and lowered the difficulty since I had already defeated Firkragg on Core Rules earlier.

Any idea what happened and how I can deal with next time, this bug was amusing but annoying at the same time.


I think I'm going to have to make some sort of character out of an Invisible Paladin it's just too good to pass up. In the meantime, my party consisted briefly of.

1. A Rashemi "Ranger" who talks to himself.
2. A winged elf without wings.
3. The party's Druid Mother Figure.
4. Benedict Arnold
5. My Gnome Beserker
6. Keldorn the Amazing Invisible Paladin-Now with Carsomyr +5

[MOD] Journal Portrait Conversations for PSTEE

This Mod will make it so when you initiate dialogue, it will show a portrait that is scaled down to half size of the appropriate bestiary entry that is located in your journal.

In the future this will probably be integrated into Portraits Portraits Everywhere.

Please note the following:

- Portraits for dialogue will not show up in PSTEE without modifying the UI. This can be done manually, or you can install this component to copy over a pre-modified UI.menu. If you do copy it over, it will overwrite any custom ui.meu you may already. Instructions on how to manually do this are in the readme if you don't want to overwrite a custom ui.menu.

- This will behave differently on a games in progress and a new game. When installing or reinstalling this mod on a game in progress, NPCs in areas you've previously visited won't get portraits, but areas and NPCs you have not yet visited will get portraits. If you start a new game, then all NPCs that should get portraits will get them.


Important: Please do not distribute the included WeiDU binary! This is an unofficial version which contains experimental code and may contain bugs or other incompatibilities.

WHAT IS IT?:

Portraits Portraits Everywhere (PPE) - core component
-----------------------------------------------------
The core component of this mod adds portraits to speaking NPCs in the Enhanced Edition Infinity Engine games. It can be installed on multiple platforms including Enhanced Edition Trilogy (EET), Baldur's Gate 1 Enhanced Edition including Siege of Dragonspear, Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition. The mod can add representative portraits for all 4617 speaking creatures throughout these games so that when you speak to them, these NPC characters that inhabit these rich worlds will appear a little bit more alive.

If any of the portraits are not to your satisfaction due to quality or you feel that the portrait does not match the in game NPC, feel free to post on the forums for potential inclusion in future updates. If there is a future patch to
the game, it's a good idea to reinstall this mod. Keep in mind that when installing or reinstalling this mod, NPCs on areas you've previously visited won't get portraits, but areas and NPCs you have not yet visited will get portraits.

If you start a new game, then all NPCs that should get portraits will get them.

Category Portraits (Recommended)
-----------------------------------------------------
This mod has an optional Category Portraits component to assign portraits from a pool of random portraits to actors that are not assigned specific portraits by the main component. This component is highly recommended and covers beings that are genericly named. For example, human characters named "Thief" or "Mugger" will get portraits from the male or female Rogue pool, characters named "Commoner" or "Peasant" will get portraits from the commoners pool, and "Drow" will get portraits from either the male or female Drow pool. There are more than ninety pools of random portraits that range from a few portraits to over 20. There are more breakdowns for groups of Humans than there are for other races. Please note that you may get repetition in portraits if you speak to multiple characters as once a pool of portraits is exhausted, then an additional round of picks from the portrait pool will be assigned to additional NPCs.

There are two ways to install the Category Portraits component - Sequentially or Randomly. If you install the component 'Sequentially' then Portraits from the Pool are assigned in numerical order to allow for reproducible results. That means that when you speak to "Mugger" in the dark alley, he should look the same if you were to reinstall the mod. There is also a Random option to grab a random portrait from the pool so that our friend the "Mugger" might get a different portrait if this component was installed a second time. If the random option is selected then a random pick will be selected. The way the random picked works is that all possible numbers from a pool are used before a second pick of the same number is picked meaning that you should not get random picks out of a group of 5 with the same number being used until all 5 of the portraits have been picked.

This is optimized for vanilla supported games but you might get some decent results for mod added characters. For example if installed after other mods, then matches from those mods of characters specifically named "Mugger" would get portraits from the Rogue pool. Please note that how other mods name or code their creatures or whether they name their rogue characters specifically "Mugger" or one of the other matching keywords is beyond my control - results may vary. Due to the varying coding standards in mods and the vast number of potential mods available, there is little chance that this component will act perfectly for mod added NPCs but it will do the best that it is able to do. An example of where the component would not act perfectly is a a character for a mod that works for Baldur's Gate 1EE that describes a human as a Half Orc through dialogue. Mods made for Baldur's Gate 1 do not support Half Orcs because there were not a playable race and that character would appear human to the engine and would get a human portrait.

Replace Low Quality TOB & SOA Portraits

This component, for Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, replaces legacy portraits included with the game for Bhaalspawn. The portraits that
are replaced are generally low quality 38x60 size and are replaced with beautiful 169x266 portraits created for the Enhanced Edition
engine.

This component, for Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, gives Edwin a female portrait once he completes the Nether scroll ritual. The portrait
was created by Syntia13 and is based on the default portrait for Edwin in Baldur's Gate 2. This is highly recommended but optional. If
you've replaced the portrait for Edwin with a custom one, you might not want to load this component.

Ust Natha Drow NPCs

This component, for Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, provides drow versions of vanilla NPC portraits. This is highly recommended but
optional. The code to transform the portraits was thoughtfully provided by K4thos. Most of the drow versions of NPC portraits are by
Isandir. If you've replaced your NPC companion portraits with a custom portraits, you might not want to load this component.

This component, for Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition, provides vampire versions of vanilla NPC portraits. This is highly recommended but

CREDITS and Additional Information

This mod is based on older mods for Baldur's Gate prior to the EE editions had mods that included small portraits for some NPCs. The pictures in these mods are lower resolution than the ones carefully selected for this mod. Some of these older mods for classic Baldur's Gate with smaller pictures that directly inspired this project are:

BG1NPC ( http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg1npc/ )

Sources of the pictures include Neverwinter Nights portraits found online, searches for baldur's gate and IWD portraits, and as a last resort search engines were used to round out the collection.

If there are any particular portraits that need to be removed you don't wish them to be featured in this work, let me know and the pictures will be removed. If you have any suggestions for submissions or changes, please feel free to comment in the discussion forum.

The table in (mod folder)\tbl\bgee.tbl lists the creatures/actors and portrait name.
You can reference the creature name to the actor in tools such as NearInfinity.

Evil Party Advice Needed!

So I started a game with a chaotic neutral charname, but due to the NPC's personalities I'm leaning towards an evil party (mainly because I adore Edwin). My PC is a Wild Mage and I'm trying to forward-plan a party (I've just got to Nashkel) - looking for some advice from you guys as I'm still a bit of a novice at BG -

Note: I've -still- not played through BG fully yet, only until the end of the mines.

At the moment, my party consists of:

Viconia, Kagain, Edwin, Xzar and Montaron.

I'm coming up shortly to the part where I meet and can recruit Dorn. I was going to swap him out for Xzar, but the problem is, I've got a bit of a soft spot for Monty, and he's actually quite good with the sling +1, and they need to be together, right?

So I either hire Dorn and get rid of Xzar and Monty, but I ideally need a Thief. Any ideas?

Or should I just get rid of Kagain for Dorn?

Diablo Minimal and No Reload Thread (spoilers)

There're many people on this forum who like to play games without reloads, or at least with minimal reloads.

The BG/IWD no-reload thread is quite popular.

Also, there're threads for reporting your Might and Magic and Pillars of Eternity no-reload and minimal reload attempts.

I've figured out we have been lacking a similar thread for Diablo games. So, if you play Diablo III, Diablo II or even Diablo I and want to share your experience, welcome to this thread!

The Diablo games are perfectly suited for no-reload runs because they are quite challenging. Moreover, In Diablo II and Diablo III a player may choose upon the character creation to make it a Hardcore character. This is an irreversible decision, but it is believed that a true player must have at least one such character. In this mode a character only lives until the first death, being permanently lost after that.

BG EE 2.0 and Siege of Dragonspear Compatible Mods

Version 2.0 of BG EE and the release of Siege of Dragonspear brought a lot of changes to the game engine.

Rather than creating a lot of confusion editing the original compatible mod list thread I decided it would be a better idea to create a new clean thread.

So if you have written a mod that is 2;0/SoD compatible or have tested a mod and found it to be compatible just let me know so that it can be added to the list.

The rule of no direct links stay. Give a link to the mod thread. The modder deserves full credit for his/her creation.

Alright, real talk.

It has been over two years now since BG2:EE has been released.
And after countless patches, the German dub still hasn't been re-included in the game.

Usually I don't care much for dubs, but the thing with the BG2 dub is ... that for a few exceptions, it's actually better than the original English version imo. A lot of us German speaking players have literally grown up with that version. It's iconic and arguably one of the best game dubs out there in general.

I think you will understand why a lot of us folks here are pretty salty about the voices still missing.
I am not saying that you should half-ass the EE voices. Please no. The new guys have to be on par with the old ones or it will ruin it. But at the very least, you could re-include the old ones and fill up the new ones with the English versions.

This has already been discussed on the German subforums, but we have been completely ignored there, which is why I am coming here.

So please, Beamdog.
Give us our dub back.

Deutsche Sprache in BG 2 EE?

Huhu zusammen,

ich habe eben BG 2 EE via Beamdog fertig herunter geladen und ich finde nirgends eine Option, auf deutsche Sprache zu stellen. Im Language-Ordner befindet sich auch nur der Ordner für die Englische Version. Wird die deutsche Lokalisierung nachgereicht? Gibt es da NAchrichten zu?

Our big furry friend has a claw which suppose to upgrade as his level goes higher like a monk. Hit as +2, +3 and all the way till its +5 weapon. However when i get him to level 19 he still able to hit through PFMW and cant hit any shadow creatures or werewolf ( which are immune to normal weapon ).

He does get +5 to hit and + 5 damage but it still count as a normal weapon.

Sometimes when he dies or hit by dispel, his paw becomes a fist. He still have the paw at quickweapon slot at the inventory screen but during the game it is displayed as fist. (with +5 to hit and +5 to damage)

I haven't done much, procrastination and class work are my anti artists. Well I've been enjoying my current my roleplaying as a DD in BGEE. If I didn't have this thing about trying to beat games vanilla before modding them, I'd be searching for a dragon shapeshifting mod. Cheap, probably. Broken, more then likely. Stop dragons from being awesome, never!

Anyways my charaname romancing Neera who is completely awesome btw (next play through, evil wildmage definitely!) So I decided to do a sketch of her.

I don't have BG2:EE installed, but I'm preparing a real version of Animate Dead, one that will bring back corpses. Since the dead will be technically zombies, they should not show with infravision and should have some other color of blood - black or maybe none at all. I hear that Hexxat has in her CRE file a couple of permanent effects from the designers to remove her heat signature and change the blood. Can someone please put up that file here so I can copy the effects or just look there and tell me what they are? I'll give you credit in the mod.
