Magic or melee for the solo run?

$

0
Good day,

As I mentioned in another thread I used to play Baldur's Gate in the past, but had a long break, until I got BG:EE and BG2:EE. I don't know why, but I had an urge to solo the whole series, even though I understand that playing without more party members means you skip some content. So I choose Dwarven Fighter/Cleric (to gain as much immunity as possible and tank everything), but now I want something completely different - an ultimate spellcaster.

However, I've read somewhere on the forum that at the end of ToB rather melee is preferred. Does it mean casters are useless, or is it possible to solo with a mage? I am not using any mods yet, but am open for suggestions. Please bear in mind that I do not want the game to be too hardcore, I will introduce myself to powergaming later on, but right now I am still trying to remind myself the game more casually.

If it is possible to solo the game with a caster, then let me ask you about the class. I was thinking about Wild Mage or Sorcerer. It is NOT a no-reload game, so Wild Mage can be considered, but I am open for any suggestions.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Irenicus in suldanesselar does not queue

I don't know why. When I enter the tree of life area, Ellisime tells me to kill the parasites, then I kill the parasites (and the elementals) then no end game fight queues. So I walk over to where irenicus is standing and try to initiate a conversation. He doesn't say anything. Then I try to talk to ellesime and she says nothing. Then I force attack irenicus and he's absolutely immune to all damage and doesn't even go hostile. Then I force attack ellesime and she takes all the damage but can't die. Nor does she go hostile. My npcs are hexxat dorm viconia korgan Edwin. I'm wondering if the ee npcs are bugging my game. Or if anyone has experienced this bug before and if so is there a work around? Playing on an iPad Air 2 using the game version available from App Store.

Kitties aside, it's time for rules. Let me see, here...

Keep It Clean-ish: Let's keep this thread PG-13.
-I'm not saying "Let's make jokes that are appropriate for Leave It To Beaver!", just avoid the profanity and sexual content.
Don't Spoil The Fun!: As far as spoilers go, well, it'd be mighty fine if you could put spoiler tags ( [ spoiler ] [ /spoiler ] , without the spaces) around such things, so people new to this game in need of a quick giggle don't get spoiled like I did on Wikipedia in 2006. :( Now I regard spoilers twice as much.
Play Nice: Like Alora says, "Careful, everyone, play nice!". This is a "space" for us to have fun. Let's play nice, and not bait or antagonize (troll) others.
Something Is Wrong, Here...: SCARY_WIZARD thinks you should contact some moderators if a rule appears to have been broken. We have, to my knowledge, @Dee (formerly Aosaw, if you've been absent for a while; the sentientest wombat I ever read things from!), @mInevese, @Nathan, @Coriander, @LadyRhian, @Cuv, @CamDawg (THEY MAKE COOL THINGS), @Jalily, @Metalloman, or any of the other Staff members (whose text happens to be on a blue or grey background).
PLEASE, let us not discuss what caused the other thread to be locked, lest this one get locked, as well, and future meme threads be prohibited!

Here's the officialest rules we can get, from @Dee: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/10852/site-rules-mind-the-gap

Here's the last thread, in all its high-larious glory: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/3079/baldur-s-gate-meme-thread-spoilers-all-over-the-place/ . A hoot and a half, especially when there was a whole page of CATS! I love cats.

Here's how to post an image, if you're like me and know HTML and vB Code/UBB Code, but are derpy.
Copy this: image, and paste it, replacing "LINKGOESHERE" with the URL of the image you want to post. Attaching is cool, too, but you might be like me and want to just link.
Here's some stuff on formatting your posts: forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/161/how-to-format-your-posts/p1
I don't do that, but I'm not exactly the best example, am I.

[KIT MOD] The Shieldbearer - V1.0

The Shieldbearer - V1.0
A mod for BGEE, IWDEE, BG2EE.

First off, thanks for stopping by.

Second, this mod is fresh off the press. Version 1.0. You might even consider this a beta. If there are problems (of which, there are bound to be several), please let me know, and I'll fix it. Feedback on functionality of the kit, as well as gameplay balance, is wholly welcome.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, thank you to @Subtledoctor and @CrevsDaak for answering several questions of mine, and for writing their own mods for me to shamelessly learn from.

For installation, simply copy the setup, tp2 file, and mod folder into your game directory and execute.
You can also download the mod here: https://github.com/Lafein/Shieldbearer-kit-for-BGEE/raw/master/SM_Shieldbearer.zip

Shieldbearers are trained from a young age in the often underappreciated use of shields. Where some warriors might discard the shield in favor of a second weapon, or a larger blade, the Shieldbearer stays true to the path. For their perseverance and dedication to the art, they are rewarded with the knowledge needed to turn a simple shield into an invaluable, and often deadly, extension of themselves.

Known Issues

-The most glaring issue for me is that none of the SB's abilities require having a shield equipped. Now, I'm going to assume that if you've downloaded this, you want to play a fighter that uses a shield. The place where I can see this being the most noticeable is if you play with breakable shields.

So for now, you can shield bash without a shield. If you know of a way that this case be remedied, let me know.

-Offensive/Defensive Fighting use the Offensive/Defensive Spin Portrait icons. Not my preference, but I haven't devised a way to dynamically add to STATDESC.2DA and update the spell's Display Portrait Icon accordingly yet. I'm sure there's a way, I just haven't found it yet.

-I'm sure there are many more, but hey, as of writing this I've JUST finished the mod. So let me know if any issues come up and I'll make like a tree and fix it.

Class Features
Advantages:
-Hit Die: d10
-May gain High Mastery in Sword and Shield Style.
-Gains a number of unique abilities starting at level 1.

-1st Level: Defensive Fighting and Offensive fighting stances.
-2nd Level: Shield Bash and Shield Block.
-3rd Level: Defender.
-5th Level: Second Wind.
-7th Level: Shield Wall.
-9th Level: Shield Ward.

Disadvantages:
-May only achieve mastery in One-handed weapons, and Specialization in all other melee weapon types.
-Cannot specialize in ranged weapons.
-May not put points in Dual-weapon or Two-Handed weapon styles.
-THAC0 increases at slower rate than normal Fighters.

Abilities
DEFENSIVE FIGHTING: While some would consider wearing a shield enough to be considered "Defensive Fighting", the Shieldbearer understands the subtle differences that make a shield more than a simple wall to hide behind. By utilizing that knowledge, can more easily deflect incoming blows, at the cost of accuracy and damage. For as long as this stance is active, the Shieldbearer gains +1 bonus to AC, 5% resistance to physical damage, and a -1 penalty to THAC0 and damage. The bonuses and penalties increase at levels 4, 12, and 20.

-1st level: +1 AC for -1 THAC0 and Damage, 5% resistance to phyiscal damage.
-4th level: +2 AC for -1 THAC0 and Damage, 10% resistance to phyiscal damage.
-12th level: +3 AC for -2 THAC0 and Damage, 15% resistance to phyiscal damage.
-20th level: +4 AC for -2 THAC0 and Damage, 20% resistance to phyiscal damage.

OFFENSIVE FIGHTING: The Shieldbearer has learned to use shield more effectively as a weapon, but as a result, loses some of the protection that it would normally provide. For as long as this stance is active, the Shieldbearer gains +1 to THAC0, a -2 penalty to AC, and an on-hit effect for extra crushing damage. The damage bonus increases at 4th level, and every 4 levels thereafter, while the THAC0 and AC penalty increase at levels 4, 12, and 20.

-1st level: +1 crushing damage/+1 THAC0 for -2 penalty to AC.
-4th level: +1d4 crushing damage/+2 THAC0 for -3 penalty to AC.
-8th level: +1d6 crushing damage
-12th level: +1d8 crushing damage/+3 THAC0 for -4 penalty to AC.
-16th level: +1d10 crushing damage
-20th level: +1d12 crushing damage/+3 THAC0 for -5 penalty to AC.

-2nd Level: May use Shield Bash and Shield Block.

SHIELD BASH: Just as a shield can be used to deflect and block incoming blows, so too can it be used to deliver devastating, and often unexpected, attacks. Nowhere is this more true than with a shield wielded by a trained Shieldbearer, for even inexperienced students of the shield are capable of delivering powerful strikes that leave their targets dazed and disoriented. Starting at single use at 2nd level, a Shieldbearer can deliver 1d6 + STR damage, plus Daze with a successful Shield Bash. The strength of the attack and the number of uses per day* grow at levels 4, 6, 8, and 10. At level 6, Shield Bash has a chance to stun the target for 1 round.

-2nd level: 2d4+STR+Daze 1 rounds (-1 THAC0/AC)
-4th level: 3d4+STR+Daze 2 rounds (-1 THAC0/AC)
-6th level: 4d4+STR+Daze 2 rounds (-2 THAC0/AC) + Stun 1 round (Save vs Paralysis -2)
-8th level: 5d4+STR+Daze 3 rounds (-2 THAC0/AC)
-10th level: 6d4+STR+Daze 3 rounds (-3 THAC0/AC)
*5 uses available at level 10, with an additional use granted every 6 levels after.

SHIELD BLOCK: Where a solid Shield Bash may highlight the offensive capabilities of a shield, a well timed Shield Block offers a glimpse into how valuable a shield can be in protecting the life of its wielder. Often learned early in a Shieldbearers training, the Shield Block allows the bearer to focus on deflecting a single incoming strike with startling precision. Starting at a single use at level 2, Shield Block grants a -2 bonus to AC, and immunity from the first attack each round for 2 rounds, plus an additional round every 4 levels, up to 6 rounds at level 18. An additional use is gained at levels 6, 10, 14, and 18.

-2nd level: +2 AC + Block 1 for 2 Rounds
-6th level: +2 AC + Block 1 for 3 Rounds
-10th level: +2 AC + Block 1 for 4 Rounds
-14th level: +2 AC + Block 1 for 5 Rounds
-18th level: +2 AC + Block 1 for 6 Rounds

-3rd Level: May use Defender.

DEFENDER: A student of the shield is often taught that their shield is not only used to protect themselves, but also to protect the lives of those around them. For even the most callous soldier knows the importance of protecting allies on the battlefield. Starting with one use at 3rd level, the Shieldbearer can focus on defending an ally, at the cost of losing some of that protection themselves, granting +2 bonus AC and 5% resistance to physical attacks at the cost of a -2 penalty to AC and 5% vulnerability to physical attacks for 6 rounds. The power of this ability, and its number of uses grow at levels 9, 15, and 21, with an additional use granted every 6 levels past that.

-3rd level: Target gains +2 AC and 5% Physical resistance. Caster loses equal amount.
-9th level: Target gains +3 AC and 10% Physical resistance. Caster loses equal amount.
-15th level: Target gains +4 AC and 15% Physical resistance. Caster loses equal amount.
-21st level: Target gains +5 AC and 20% Physical resistance. Caster loses equal amount.

Abilities Continued
-5th Level: May use Second Wind.

SECOND WIND: There is a saying coined by the famous (or perhaps infamous) General Napol Bonapere, who served Tethyr under King Haedrak III; "The first virtue in a soldier is endurance of fatigue; courage is only the second virtue." There is no doubt that fatigue has perhaps killed its fair share of able-bodied soldiers, on and off the battlefield. But there are those who recognize this danger, and actively seek ways to combat this unseen foe. By enduring great hardships and perilous conditions, a warrior can learn to draw upon reserves of strength and energy to sustain through even the longest of marches, or tedious of battles. Even existing wounds and bruises seem lessened through this surge of raw vigor.

Starting at 5th level, a Shieldbearer can draw upon these reserves of energy once per day to aid in or out of combat.

-5th level: +15% of Max HP for 1 turn. Resets Morale and lessens Fatigue by 50%.
-8th level: +20% of Max HP for 1 turn. Resets Morale and lessens Fatigue by 50%.
-11th level: +25% of Max HP for 1 turn. Resets Morale and lessens Fatigue by 50%.
-14th level: +30% of Max HP for 1 turn. Resets Morale and lessens Fatigue by 50%.
-17th level: +35% of Max HP for 1 turn. Resets Morale and lessens Fatigue by 50%.

-7th Level: May use Shield Wall.

SHIELD WALL: Shieldbearers are taught that not all shield walls require an entire group of soldiers, and that with the proper technique and skill, even one can stand defiant against overwhelming odds. This intense concentration on defense is physically taxing however, building fatigue equal to 4 hours of travel when the Shield Wall ends. Once per day, starting at 7th level, the Shieldbearer may enter into a shield wall for 1 turn. The Shieldbearer gains immunity to normal missles, +25% resistance to all weapon damage, and +2 bonus to saving throws. APR is set to .5, and movement speed is reduced to 1/4. Cannot be used with Offensive Fighting.

At 7th level, Shield Wall has the following effects;
Bonuses - Immunity to normal missles. +25% resistance to all weapon damage. +2 to saving throws
Penalties - APR set to .5. Movement speed reduced to 1/4. Cannot be used with Offensive Fighting. Builds fatigue.
-11th level: The movement speed in only reduced to 1/2.
-15th level: The APR is set to 1.

-9th Level: May use Shield Ward.

SHIELD WARD: The Shieldbearer has become so skilled at the art of the Shield, that even the feared magics of Mages and Sorcerors can be deflected, for a time. By using equal parts skill with a shield, and pure willpower, the Shieldbearer can deflect spells targetting once per day, for 1 round a level up to level 21. This ability functions as the Wizard spell Minor Spell Deflection at level 9, and as Spell Deflection at level 17, for the purposes of how spells are deflected. An additional use of this ability is granted at level 13.

-9th level: 3 spell levels Deflected
-13th level: 5 spell levels Deflected
-17th level: 7 spell levels Deflected
-21st level: 10 spell levels Deflected

What is your "perfect" mod setup?

$

Unfortunately, I don't have time to start a new playthrough now or in the near future, but I've noticed I try to compensate for this by searching for the perfect mod setup, one that will feel like the game is now finally "completed".

It seems this quest came to an end, so allow me to share what I consider to be my perfect mod setup in order of install (it's for bg2 since that is the game I care most about):

1- Quest pack by SimDing0 (mainly the "revised hells trials" component- the more varied approaches to alignment and neutral path in hells trials are a rare opportunity to make alignment really count as a character development tool)

2- Dorn romance expansion by trinit (evil romance option - well, I did this to flesh out romance a bit)

3- Edwin romance by Laufey (neutral romance option - great mod, for personal use I edited the text to make it fit better with the rest of the game)

4- Valygar romance (good romance option - for personal use only- I put this together for various other mods and few additions from myself)

5- Refinements by Littiz, T.G.Maestro and the bigg (the revised HLA abilities add much to the flavour of the classes)

6- Shapeshifter improvements (just edited the claws so they scale better)

7- Ranger spell fix (enables level 4 divine spells for rangers, much like the paladins have. I got the table on this forum, but can't remember which thread it was)

8- A high resolution portrait pack by ikonomov ( essential for any high-res display, for personal use i made a few modifications to some of the portraits)

9- Druid grove makeover by Ulb ( completely agree with the reasons the author stated for making this mod, it even inspired me to make few modifications to the interior of the grove of my own)

10- Will o' wisp by LavaDelVortel (the shamans are a great class and they need their own stronghold. plus, the extra NPC and kit!)

11- IWD GUI for BG2EE by trinit (made this since I dislike original GUIs for BG games)

12- The Wheels of Prophecy by DavidW (this one doesn't want to install on this setup, so it's on hold for now)

This is it. I feel like these mods correct the most flaws regarding content, visual elements, gameplay tweaks etc. Some of the stuff I made myself, simply because no one else did it and I got tired of waiting. I was considering some friendship mods, NPC mods, spell revisions and such, but I'm wary of installing too many mods at the same time.

All the same, I'm really grateful to the amazing and active modding community that made all the great work and even inspired me to make a few thing of my own, as well as beamdog for making the new games much more accessible and improved it mechanically. I just hope the new updates won't break anything :P

Anyway, I think the modding frenzy has left me, now it's just the matter of finding the time to start a new playthrough.

please, share what is your favourite mod setup for what you consider to be a "perfect" bg2, bg1, sod or iwd game :)

Currently in a new run with a swashbuckler called Henri de Baldur (just reached level 2).

-> I'm planning to make an evil team of thieves !
- We will defeat Tazok's bandits (these competitors must be taken care of).
- We will be feared in the world of shadows...
- We'll be a legend in the Sword Coast !
- ... and basically we'll just try to burgle every house and rob everybody.

My planned team:
Henri de Baldur - Swashbuckler - Lockpicking and Find traps, Longswords, any idea for other proficiencies?
Montaron - F/T - He's gonna be my scout (Move Silently, Hide in Shadows) and backstabber, Short Swords, Slings
Xzar - Necromancer - arcane magic, fun, crazyness
Eldoth - Pickpockets, Scimitar/Wakizashi/Ninjato or Spear ?? + Longbow with poison arrows
Skie - well, I don't know what she can be useful for... any ideas? maybe set traps
Tiax - coz he's a priest AND thief, and I could benefit from a priest :), I don't know how to use him though

Please share any comments/ideas, how would you build this team/develop these PCs? Thanks a lot!

Swashbuckler's No-Reload (or few reloads) attempt

$
0
0
Why this? I should probably test some stuff I made out, given it's available as a public download for SR-SCS users. Given my install; I don't feel as if No-Reload is very viable - hence I made this thread for my run. It will be played as a no-reload for all accounts bar my PC's death, should it come to that.
Install consists of Item/Spell/Kit Revisions, Refinements, Ascension, SCS (all hardest options bar "hardest spawns" and "more annoying trolls"), some tweaks of my own, nerfed XP table, and some Rogue Rebalancing items (mostly for Critical hit protection in BG1 - I won't be using RR bows, darts or similar - just some hood RR puts in Ulgoth's Beard and a +1 club from Beregost).

Anyhow, this is the protagonist - a human swashbuckler with godly stats.

As you can see from his WIS score, the intention is to dual him to a cleric. It will be a late dual however, since I use my own swashbuckler kit revision
- is considered ambidexterous (+2 off-hand THAC0)
- starts with +2 bonus to Armor class, which increases by one every 4 levels, up to +6 at level 17
- gains +1 bonus to his Breath saves at levels 2, 10 and 19
- from level 4, Swashbucklers gain "Swift parry" ability. Each of their melee hits has a 20% chance to grant the swashbuckler an immediate extra attack and a +2 AC bonus vs melee. This ability improves at levels 12 and 19, granting the swashbuckler +1 luck and +2 to his melee damage for the next round.
- at level 14, gains a permanent +1 Luck bonus.
- at level 15, can use "Evasion" HLA 1x/day

Disadvantages:
- cannot backstab nor benefit from backstab multiplier increasing items.
- cannot set traps.

From this - the best level to dual is actually 14 or 15. The caveat is that he shares the same XP table as everyone else (1,7 x thieves' base progression), so level 14 comes at 1,500,000 XP (contrary to 880 000 in vanilla). That's a long way for that fantastic +1 Luck bonus - but it's worth it.
Since most of the bonuses this kit gets are activated in melee combat, he will be played strictly as a melee character, and will be using clubs. Clubs are low-damage (1d4 base) weapons with Item Revisions, but they have a decent speed factor, won't break in BG1 and have few versions with fantastic on hit effects. Also I need a break from my regular flails pick.

Progress so far- I soloed quite a bit to get some XP under the belt before I assemble my party. Ofc, one must choose battles carefuly - gnolls in particular are awful since they crit for massive damage. Spiders aren't fun either with bad death saves on this character.

I bought Mirrored Eyes potions from Thalantyr and went basilisk hunting - avoided Mutamin for now since he's a death sentence for a solo character.

I tried to cheese Mutamin a bit with Korax, but it didn't work. Korax is immune to petrification, but SR changes petrification into a permanent hold-like effect. The poor ghoul isn't immune to that (maybe I should change it..) and dies, while I run to Duralg's.

Using the poor stealth skills (I invested into Open Locks, few points in Find Traps, few in pickpocket) I manage to sneak past the Battle Horrors and kill the basilisks on top, gaining level 7. With that done, it was time to gather my troops. First, Edwin. I love Edwin, he's incredibly powerful with his imba amulet. My main gripe with him is that his BG2 quest is quite hard with SCS if you want to get him quickly. Be that as it may - he levels up on joining so starts with level 3 spells - and knows Haste. SR reworks haste into a single-target spell, but this causes some little AI problems. I tweaked it myself - now it adds +6 to movement speed and + 1/2 apr, lasts two turns, has AoE and is followed by fatigue (-2 THAC0, movement, AC when expires). Imp.Haste is better on all accounts: AoE, +2 AC, +2 breath save, +1 apr, immunity to slow and no fatigue afterwards. It's still much nerfed compared to vanilla Imp.haste (Kit revisions' Whirwind HLA actually works as vanilla Imp.Haste, albeit for only two rounds). None of SR Haste spells doubles the rate of regeneration (or poison).

Now I had enough money to buy the hood with critical hit protection, coupled with Pro Acid scroll I clear the Ankheg farm (mostly for Fire wand) and go to kill Dynaheir; removing all obstacles on the way.

Bad things happened on the way to gnoll fortress - this one being the worst. A lone Ogre-mage charmed my protagonist instantly. This would have been a reload should Edwin fail his save....

Alas, he didn't, and Ogre had no more spells bar two Chromatic orbs. Edwin killed him with Acid Arrows (on a sidenote, I use my own specialist mage revisions, which leads to Edwin loosing both Divination AND Evocation - means no Fireball, Magic Missile and similar. He doesn't really get any bonuses instead, in PnP conjurer gets some but they're utterly nonsensical so.....bleh. I wanted to buff his summon capabilities but it's not as straightforward since I want AI to have the same benefits as my own. Evocation loss isn't so bad with SR anyway.).

After killing Dynaheir, I return to Durlags. This time I don't need stealth, since Edwin is more than capable of killing the Horrors.

I clear out the guardian's floor up to those two slimes; they're a bit too tricky to tackle for now. Dopes are as well, but fireballs cut through mirror images....

Next, Beregost (spiders), FAI (get Jaheira & Khalid. Yes, Khalid. He's a fighter-mage on my install), talk with Dorn.
Up to Ulgoths, pickpocket Dushai. Twice.

Get some quick levels for them...

Note the Ogre Bersekers here. I tweaked the berserker class from Kit Revisions a bit. (this applies to both PC and enemy berserkers).
Once a berserker takes damage, he has a chance (rather high, 50%) to go into Frenzy for 12 seconds. What this does is give him a massive melee damage bonus (+8), a small measure of physical resistance (10%), he takes less spell damage (1 point per die), looses 4 AC points, has +4 to save vs spells and -10 penatly to any breath save he needs to make.
At later levels, he also regenerates rather quickly in this state. This makes Ogre Berserker something you want to stay as far away as possible. Exploiting their poor Breath saves, we kill them at range. This all makes sense only with Spell Revisions (breath save penalty is *bad*).

With that said and done, it was time to visit Nashkel and adopt Dorn. I don't value his kit much, so I use my own version of it
this time.
He keeps his Fear immunity & poison weapon while loosing NPP, he looses the Aura (which is a *spell* in vanilla EE anyway, not an aura) and gets a proper aura (reworked) later on; + he gains some innate spells to boot. It's the first kit I ever made so I'm fond of it. :)
I've also swapped his stats - DEX is reduced to 14, while CON is increased to 16. Due to him being a paladin kit, he retains his spellcasting (I didn't plan on this when making the kit, it's a fighter kit on old engine) but that's fine. He ends up quite being quite powerful I guess...

With him on board, I kill Bassiluss and Greywolf, and get back to finish what I've started with Mutamin. This went horrible, tbh. I had one single Mirrored Eyes potions here. It lasts 5 turns with revisions, but I made all potion buffs dispellable. Poor Khalid gets all his buffs removed asap.

This is bad. Khalid runs back to the party; and all of Muta's basilisks follow him. Crap.
Edwin summons some archers; while Dorn gets petrified asap.

I get rid of one basilisk, while Edwin summons more fodder.

Things get progressively worse as Jaheira gets charmed and poor Khalid succumbs to Sleep and gets petrfied.

Following that, Edwin manages to nail the basilisk with Acid Arrows, while protagonist kills the now out-of-spells Mutamin.

I have a habit on buying Stone to Flesh scrolls with SR - and now I put them to use. Note that characters which are petrfied aren't really "dead" - even PC can be petrified and reverted back provided you have the means to do so.

This has a side effect of not breaking loot or bugging out romances.

With that done, I clear the spider wood north, and return to main plot by killing Mulahey, amazons and Tranzig.

[Kickstarter] Pixel Princess Blitz: Sandbox Roguelike Action RPG

Stumbled across this little gem when I checked out kickstarter today and I simply fell in love with Pixel Princess Blitz. Given that it boasts of things which I love about games! Sandbox? Check! Roguelike dungeons? Check! Simulation elements? Check! Both turn-based and real time gameplay? Check! Romances? Check! Pixels? Check! Dynamic story with multible endings? Check! Random encounters which are decided via dice rolls? Check! Cuteness is justice? Check, check and check! :3

Pixel Princess Blitz needs to make €77,700 'till the campaign ends on the 9th Februrary. But seeing that it already surpassed €12,000 on its very first day, I believe there's no doubt that Lanze Games (the creators) will get their game funded. And with a couple of stretch goals secured to boot as well. :)

IWD Divine spells in BGEE, SoD and BG2EE

OKay, so I've converted all IWD divine spells to BGEE and BG2EE. My plan is to add them to the Faiths and Powers mod, but I figured why not release it as a standalone mod.

So, this is a mod that adds all IWD divine spells into BGEE and BG2EE. I'm reasonably confident that this mod is bug free, the spells in this mod are functional, but please do report any bugs you find and I'll fix it asap.

I do also plan to add all IWD wizard spells to BG (etc.), but that's a longer term goal. I will probably add some custom spells eventually.

This should be pretty much compatible with any mod (though, not Faiths and powers atm), though let me know if you find any incompatibilities as well.

Updates:
2016-06-23
Version 0.79

- Numerous bugs squashed
- Increased compatibility with spell revisions ( install after sr!) most notability, it will no longer install duplicate spells such that both the sr and iwd versions are memorizable (e.g. cause light wounds)
- Compatibility code for future, and in progress projects
- Updated secondary spells an icons to use the standard (i.e. the spell name + some letter suffix)

Version 0.80
- This one is all about the static charge spell. Added the projectile in secondary spell to make it actually work correctly (and not target the caster!), updated text notification to something less wacky, and sec spell rename to match default implementation

Version 0.81
- Apparently, I inadvertently removed Whirlwind. Also, Spiritual Wrath was using the Whirlwind pro in version 0.80. That must have been interesting. Fixed
- Bug fixes
- Added a missing file for symbol, pain.
- Changed portrait icons for symbol spells to existing ones in the bg(2)ee engine.

Version 0.82
- Added 7 7th level IWD spells that I missed. Oops!
- Fixed a compatibility error with Spell Revisions. You shouldn't be getting those installation errors anymore.
- Some bug fixes
- Added an IWD wizard spell: icelance. I'll be adding a few wizard spells seemingly at random. It's not random as those spells are being used in Faiths and Powers. But, anyway, the plan is to add IWD wizard spells, so, I'm fine with that.

Version 0.84
- Added Acid Storm, Shadow monsters and Shades wizard spells.
- I am aware that I still need to add wizard scrolls. That will come when I seriously start adding wizard spells. Right now, I'm just doing the minimum for faiths and powers mod.

Divine spells will go here.

A great spell mod. I'll eventually create a mod to use these spells in IWD (as they are not currently available in that game). I will also work to ensure compatibility with this mod

Revamp Test of Selfishness - BG2 Hell Trial (spoilers on)

Hi ppl, i was looking in the game and thought... is the selfishness test really selfishness? Cos it's a bit contradictory to permanent kill an dorn or korgan in the trade of an +2AC (which is crap in ToB) or to save 1 point of dexterity. In the long run for any party, good or evil, it's better to take the good path, sometimes +10 Mres is even preferable than 1 dex.

The fun question is that the good path is an greed path in fact, where we can't fathom the possibility of lose an character that we had an high amount of work to get, it's an tool we sharpened to perfection that the game intent to take from us!

So, i proposte to rework this trial, so we can take the evil option more often. My initial suggestion is to change the evil bonus, cos it sucks, and give an penality to the sacrified character taken instead of perma kill him/her (it for mods).

Maybe +2 Dex to main char and -2dex (or -x max life points) to the sacrified character.

So, what you ppl say?

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam - live stream

This video popped up in my Youtube recommendations one day, and I find that I keep revisiting it at least for a few minutes each night.

From the project's official website: http://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com/eagle-feed.html

"Eagles are wild birds and anything can happen in the wild. The Southwest Florida Eagle Camera (SWFEC) does not interfere or intervene and allows nature to take its course. You will see life and you might see death, but this is nature at her finest."

"If you are viewing at night, please note Cam 1 is equipped with night vision or infrared light (IR). The glow you are seeing on the camera is invisible to the naked eye. The eagles do not see any light and remain undisturbed."

Sadly, I've read elsewhere that one of the eagle's eggs has yet to hatch, and there is a likelihood now that it won't. :'(
