Left Sidebar-- graphics bug

When I play I remove the left sidebar (by clicking the small red button on the top of it). What's been consistently happening is that after playing for a while, when I do things which cause a transition of the page, I see a variety of graphics errors where that sidebar was previously. The only way to fix this is to quicksave, then quickload and then remove the sidebar once more.
